An afternoon at Turville Valley Stud, with Joanna Thurman-Baker.

Turville Valley Stud is one of my favourite places to visit. Everyone is so friendly, and they have the most georgous horses there so I'm always totally spoilt for choice. :)

I was there to photograph Joanna, who I am very excited to be working alongside in the future. Joanna is just 20 years old and both her, and her beautiful home trained horse, Highcliffe Apollo, did there very first Grand Prix at a Premier League the other day. The pair did amazingly well and Joanna told me they had so much fun.

Apollo and Joanna have such a harmonious relationship, built on years of trust and learning together. They have been to two Europeans, and were on the world class potential programme together. All this and she is only 20 years old, how amazing is that?!

We of course couldn't resist photographing some of the other stunning horses stabled at the yard for training with the family.

There was Duque, the chestnut PRE Andalusian stallion, who I fell in love with. He is too damn pretty, I don't know how his owner gets anything done. I think I'd just gaze lovingly at him all day. :) He is due to be gelded soon, but we kept that quiet in fear he might cross his legs haha.

Vulcarno, the grey Lusitano who looks just like a unicorn, and photographs like a dream.

Universo, the bay Lusitano stole the show with his incredible Spanish walk. Uni absolutely loved having his photo taken and was a real cool dude. He took absolutely no notice of Joanna's dress drapped over his back, although he did wonder why she had no boots on!

I couldn't resist taking a few shots of the puppies, Sprout and Thomas, who are utterly adorable.

See I told you all the horses are just divine, and of course Joanna is breathtakingly beautiful and a pleasure to photograph.
