Child Photography

For those of you who don't know, I also photograph children and you might be shocked to hear that I'm not overly maternal, and to tell you the honest truth, I've never even held a baby! I know, I know, I've got to the grand old age of 33 and never held a baby, crazy right! You are probably thinking why do you photograph children then?

I blame Henry for this (pictured below), who is my friend Linzi's little boy, he helped me fall in love with child photography! I offered to photograph Henry as a wedding gift to her and her husband Ben, and low and behold, I loved every minute. And now I offer child photography, it’s as simple as that.

I'm not a fan of studio photography, and putting babies in flowerpots, I prefer kid's to be kid's, outdoors running around and having fun.

I have listed just a few of reasons why I persoanlly find kids great to photograph:

1. Very young children are totally unaware of the camera, which is just the best, as you get to capture their personality with no airs or graces. They don't get stiff or awkward in font of the camera like adults do, they are just themselves. Children are totally innocent and you get to capture genuine moments.

2. Cute outfits. I mean c’mon, you can dress little ones in such adorable clothes, what’s not to love?

3. Once upon a time your children were small. Yep that’s right. They grow up and change so much, especially in the early years, making childhood so precious. It's an amazing feeling knowing that I have given families some beautiful, timeless images of their children to cherish forever.

4. I have fun. It’s true, kids shoots are a blast, and they come out with the most hilarious things! A child's mind is just fascinating.
